Welcome to the Journal of

Downtown Lafayette, Louisiana Engagement Session | Natalie & Bailey

When I heard that Natalie and Bailey had their first date at Zuhause Bakery, I knew that it would be a great option for us to incorporate the sweet little coffee shop into their engagement session. Which was perfect since we were up early for a sunrise photo session and we could use all the coffee (psst, waking up before the sun is absolutely worth it with the beautiful images we were able to capture as the result. Would absolutely recommend considering it)! We began their sunrise session sipping some coffee on the house from Zuhause, because that the kind of southern hospitality they roll with, and made our way to Downtown Lafayette, Louisiana stopping by St. John’s Cathedral at the end. I am loving the lifestyle feels that we captured from their session. I sometimes think Downtown is a bit under rated in terms of photo session options. There are lots of cute corners to play around with endlessly.

It’s important to note that Bailey designed Natalie’s engagement ring himself. Did you catch that? Yes! He designed it through Dianna Rae Jewelry! I think you’ll agree with me, just how stunning it is, when you see how beautiful and unique it is below! They were such troopers from the start of their session and were ready to have fun with me throughout the morning. They definitely rocked it (and not just a ring rock). Bailey and Natalie are so easy-going and fun to be around. With Bailey keeping Natalie laughing in subtle ways, it was so fun to meet them for the second time and watch their effortless chemistry. The future Mr. and Mrs. Meaux are planning their winter 2022 wedding in Abbeville and I am already itching for it to get here! I can’t wait to photograph the two of them together again and create more magic!

If you have never visited Downtown Lafayette, Louisiana, it is the hub of Lafayette and where most of the festivals take place (usually), and I’m looking forward to when those days are here again. But in the meantime it was nice to have the area somewhat clear and free for us to have some fun!

2022 here we come!
