Welcome to the Journal of

THE WEDDING OF ABIGAIL & ANDREW

People talk about being nervous on your wedding day but you don’t know the feeling until you are an hour away from saying “I do”. Suddenly your stomach is doing flips, it’s a good thing, but some (like me) may find it a little unexpected.

Andrew squeezed his eyes shut. He was being led by the hand to a spot to pray with his soon-to-be bride; his hands shaking. He felt her hand hold his and a feeling of warmth, excitement and emotions seemed to poor in all at once. He kept his eyes shut as they breathed in this moment. There was a crowd of people nearby but they seemed to block them out for a couple of minutes. This day was just for them. So was this moment. It was perfect.

When Abigail and I first met, it was over a FaceTime chat. We talked about all the things she was planning for her wedding day. Even while following her dreams in nursing school she managed to plan their beautiful wedding with the help of her family. We spoke about all the details she had in mind, all the most important parts of the day, including her plan to surprise Andrew and sing to him during the ceremony (does it get anymore romantic?!). She told me about her fiancé and her face lit up when she spoke about Andrew. She had prayed hard to find the right husband and she knew he was the one she had prayed for. It was incredibly inspiring.

He lived in Georgia and she in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. But they made it work. They decided that they wanted to build a life together and never looked back. I am so honored to have been able to capture the beginning of their journey together as husband and wife.

Y’all, I still sometimes can’t believe I get to share in these intimate moments. Sometimes I cry at weddings, I laugh a lot (as we all should, because it’s such a fun and exciting day!) but at this wedding, I got chills in the best way it was so touching.

I wish you both all the happiness in Georgia and beyond! Congratulations!
