Welcome to the Journal of

A Beautiful Backyard Wedding

Alexis and Hunter said their vows to one another in front of their closest family and friends and it rained (more on that in a moment). The day started off getting ready at Alexis’ brother’s home in Lafayette, Louisiana. Which also happened to be the ceremony location. But if you look at the photos below you’ll notice that it doesn’t look like it was in their front yard. They transformed their property into a wedding venue! This wasn’t always the plan (thanks COVID) but I really believe that it was supposed to happen this way, for one reason or another, and that they will look back on this day with fond memories, regardless of the struggles they endured to make it to this moment.

There were many beautiful and touching moments during their day. Happy tears as they anticipated the moment they vowed their lives to one another. Sad tears as they remembered loved ones who wouldn’t be with them on this joyous day. Alexis honored her Grandmother by wearing her earrings and bracelet which just so happened to compliment her overall look so well. What a special heirloom to have in memory of someone so special.

You may notice that in the early photos of the ceremony, you can see raindrops falling and/or on Hunter as he was waiting for his bride. That’s because it started sprinkling at exactly the moment the wedding party started walking down the aisle. But just as Alexis walked down the aisle and her daddy handed her off, the rain stopped, just as quickly as it started. I wouldn’t have believed it unless I was there. Like something out of a movie. Who would have thought, that something you usually dread to have happen on your wedding day, turned out to be such a sweet way to start off your marriage (in my opinion). Like God himself was blessing their day.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of such a special day! Congratulations guys!

Liz
