Louisiana August Wedding | Brooke & Colin - Elizabeth Watts Photography

Brooke & Colin celebrated their marriage together with their family and guests this month but it was not their actual wedding date. They said their vows for the first time in June. But due to the pandemic, they were unable to move forward with their reception. Thankfully, they were able to move forward with their reception at The Ballroom in Broussard on a beautiful August day.

There is something bittersweet on the photography side of having 2 wedding days, I know it is so difficult for my couples during these times. However the upside for them is they usually get 2 honeymoons, two days to celebrate their marriage together, and on my end, I get an extra day to spend telling their love story! It really brings me so much joy!

When Brooke called me to tell me the news that they were having to post-pone their reception, in an effort to understand their thought process, I asked her why they decided to move forward with their vows on their original date but move the rest of the date to a later date. Her answer was simple “We just don’t want to wait any longer to get married”. So simple and so perfect. They new what was the most important thing to them. As much as it was hard for them to change their plans, they knew that nothing could stop them from starting their lives together.
