When I first had the chance to chat with Elizabeth, she told me the story of when John proposed to her. I talk about this a little in my blog post from their engagement session. So many questions in my head came up when I originally heard this story. Elizabeth and John must get this a lot if I had to guess. He had her take possesion of her own engagement ring for an entire year before he actually popped the question. Not only that, but his instructions to her were that she was to keep it with her at all times! Talk about “no pressure”. Well, when it came to their wedding day, there wasn’t a moment that was left without sparks, romance, laughter, you name it! This sweet couple are obviously smitten. But more than that, they have a true admiration for each other. Elizabeth brought the very box from their proposal story which you’ll see below. With her newest “Open When” letter for their wedding day.
The sweet pair were married at St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette and finished their night off at The Truss Room. John surprised his bride with a killer choreographed dance during the reception and these who danced the night away, ending with a last dance that had everyone in tears.
Of course if all they had were each other for their wedding day that would have been stunning and so full of love. However, Elizabeth’s Mom, Kellie, went above and beyond with the detail in planning her day and it showed. Elizabeth’s Dad, Ryan, shared a beautiful first look with her and also shared a moment at the reception when he opened a special bottle of liquor that was saved for a special moment, in honor of her Grandfather. It was a moment that brought tears to my eyes. Watching their expressions and emotions throughout the day as someone from outside of the family warmed my heart to see how much they cared for the daughter and now son-in-law.
John’s parents being in the wedding industry themselves brought so much beauty and fun to their day. John’s Dad, Matt, kept the party alive all night long while he entertained us with his DJ skills – Allen Entertainment Pro Mobile DJ Services. John’s Mom, Maria, brought her florist skills and did not disappoint us with the beautiful arrangements!
A big thank you to all the vendors who worked hard to make their day come together.
