The sun was out for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. It was just cool enough with wind blowing her soft curls away from her face. None of us could believe how much of a picture perfect (pun intended) day it was for Sophie’s senior session at the UL Alumni Center. If only I had brought some sandwiches and chips with me, it would have been the perfect day for a picnic. Those days don’t come around often in Lafayette, Louisiana.

It was the first time I had met Sophie but I still find it hard to believe this incredibly smart and beautiful woman doesn’t already have a date for prom. Not only a talented dancer but accepted to many great collages already (seriously, it’s impressive), she has so much potential ahead of her.
